In separate speaking engagements Friday, (5/10/96) Clinton and Dole bothechoed themes of personal responsibility and volunteerism to solve thisnation's problems. Their remarks resonated well, although few votersturned out to see either speech, reportedely because they were busy working for aliving and raising families. Those voters in attendance however agreed thatClinton and Dole should encourage more volunteerism, particularly atretirement homes, A.A.R.P. functions, and Bingo.
Clinton and Dole also took strong stands together in opposition to crime,drunk drivers, and bad weather.
